Rhyl and District RFC made to long trip in the snow showers to play Welshpool RFC. Fortunately there had been less snow than at places on route. With the conditions wet and the pitch very soft neither side were able to produce attractive rugby. With the numerous handling mistakes the game developed in to the power of the forwards. Welshpool's larger pack came out on top after stern defence from the young Rhyl side. It was Rhyl that took the lead through a determined push in a ruck that saw hooker Cail Hughes go over for the try. Welshpool responded from the restart and won a scrum on the five metre line. After some penalties for offside which were taken as scrums , Welshpool scored the try that would leave the scores level at the break. The second half followed the same pattern and it was the Welshpool stronger pack that forced the errors that allowed them to score two late tries and with one converted they ended up 17-5 winners. .
