Rhyl made the long journey to mid wales to play Newtown but came away without affecting the score board. Newtown heavier pack was the difference between the two sides with two two tries from push overs from the scrum. The game was littered with errors that saw Damon Price and Jason Blackmore receive yellow cards which unfortunately these were at similar times so for eight minutes Rhyl were down to thirteen players . Newtown had the possession and kept pressuring the Rhyl defence and the team were praised by the opposition for keeping the score to 15-0.
