It was billed as the local derby when Rhyl travelled to neighbours Abergele after a break of a couple of seasons, The new set up of Coaches and some players at Rhyl proved too much for the home side. The 17-0 score just before have time with try’s by Dru Roberts , Stuart Fellcrook and Tom Jones proving to much frustration for an Abergele player who received a straight red card for kicking an opponent. Rhyl’s George Cliff received a yellow for retaliation. The fast Rhyl backs took advantage in the second half Running in four more tries , two for winger Tore Wright and another each go Stu Fellcrook and Tom Jones. With two conversions from Richie Williams and one by Cal Morris ending the scoring spree for Rhyl. Abergele managed a late consolation try but could not get control of the game. Final result 5 – 41. With no game next week Rhyl will be preparing for their next league game against a strong Denbigh side.
