Rhyl got an inconsistent season back on track at the Waen on Saturday with a hugely impressive win against Wrexham.  New head coach Seb Vidal fielded a new look side with starts for several of last years youth team.   The visitors started the brightest with a period of pressure on the home line but some solid defence and clinical counter attacking saw Rhyl work into the Wrexham 22 and after several phases Man of the Match Richie Williams went over under the posts for a great solo try.  Rhyl then began to take control with a solid set piece and great defence providing the backs with plenty of quality ball which the impressive Jason Blackmore used at stand off to control the game.  Following another flowing move winger Reeve wright went over for Rhyls second try.  A penalty from Williams saw the half time score stand at 17 nil to Rhyl. The second period continued in much the same way with Rhyls dogged defence ensuring no joy for Wrexham's back line but some indiscipline and forward pressure from the visitors saw them score two close range try's late in the game,  however the dragons defence held firm for a well earned win.  Mention must go the young front row of Josh Parry, Cail Hughes and Will Larter for a tireless performance in an excellent team effort.  Rhyl now have games against Bangor and Newtown to build on this win before the international break.
