Ruthin Youth 31-5 Rhyl Youth

Rhyl RFC Youth team played their last game in the North Wales east league before the leagues are split in the New Year. They travelled to Ruthin to play their youth team and it was Ruthin who pressured the Rhyl defence for large portions of the first half. The pressure paid off as Ruthin scored the first try of the game. Rhyl came back when Oliver Staveley kicked the loose ball and chased it up to cross for Rhyl’s only score of the game. With Ruthin scoring another try they led at the interval

12-5. The second half continued in the same vane with both teams pushing for a score . Two quick try’s by Ruthin pushed the score to 24-5. Another converted try ended the scoring .

Rhyl’s team gave it everything to finish at 31-5 and this was a vast improvement on last years result. This squad’s commitment and improvement is something they should be proud of . We will see how they compete in the new league after the Christmas break but the future is looking very positive for  Rhyl RFC as this team matures in all aspects of the game. Head coach Angus Garbutt and his team of coaches have done an incredible job with the whole squad.
