Christchurch school Tag Tournament

Today there was a primary schools rugby tournament held at Christchurch for the Rhyl and Prestatyn area.

The teams represented Christchurch, Ysgol Hiraddug, Ysgol y Llys, Bodnant, Penmorfa, Brynhedydd, Ysgol Dewi Sant, Clawdd Offa, Ysgol y Melyd, Ysgol Llewelyn and Emmanual.

Of the 11 teams, there was representation of Rhyl U11's and Rhyl U10's in 4 schools, 2 of which played in the final.  All in all there was approximately 20 players from Rhyl RUFC - and supporting parents alike!

There was tremendous sportsmanship and passion shown by all Rhyl RUFC squad members despite being on opposing teams which I'm sure you'll agree is a huge asset to Rhyl RUFC and one we should be proud of.  I must admit it was a little amusing seeing Rhyl socks, shorts and training tops worn by numerous players but with different shirts!

Thank you all to all those Rhyl RUFC parents who were also able to come and support their squad members - we appreciate that finding the hours in a working week is really really difficult.

In addition to the squad members, the referees were also Rhyl RUFC coaches or volunteers so a huge thank you goes out to them too.
