The New Chairman

Rhyl Rugby club had a change of leadership this year with Sion Hughes stepping down from the role of Chairman in July after many years in charge. The members are very grateful for all the time he gave to the club in the lead up to the biggest change, in the history of the club, for many years.

Taking the seat of Chairman is Richard (Dick) Greenwood. He cannot be called a new comer to the game as he played for England in the 60s, and went on to be the team coach in the early 80s. He played and coached all around the world. His son, Will Greenwood, played for England and was part of the world cup winning team of 2003. Through this connection the youth team received a complete kit which was worn for the first time last week. Our thanks to Dick, Will and Canterbury NZ for the kit.

Dick is enthusiastic about rugby and the development of our teams from juniors to the seniors. He can be seen giving advice and coaching team at the training nights at the Waen. As The leader of the Ty Newydd development team he has put a lot of time in the creation of this exciting period in Rhyl rugby club history.

Will it happen this year? It will with Dick chasing everyone concerned!!!
