News re the Social Club on Vale Road

A new ‘partnership’ is underway in Rhyl – a partnership between Rhyl Rugby Club and Wellspring Christian Centre.

Work has already started on the new site for the Rhyl Rugby Club on Tynewydd Road in Rhyl and plans are well underway for Wellspring Christian Centre to purchase the Social Club site on Vale Road. Wellspring has already obtained the necessary Change of Use from Denbighshire County Council to change from a Social Club to a Place of Worship. And so, whilst the Rugby Club’s new facility is in the process of construction, they will continue to use the Vale Road site from Monday to Saturday and the church will be using the site every Sunday at 10.30am for their family gospel celebration. Wellspring will also be putting on other events on the Sundays – events that will be well advertised in the local press.

Once the Rugby Club has finished its new facility, the full ownership and occupation of the Vale Road site will transfer to the Wellspring Christian Centre. And so if you are passing the Vale Road site on either the Saturday afternoon when there is a televised rugby match, particularly between England and Wales, being shown in the Clubhouse, or indeed if you are passing on the Sunday morning when the church meets for its worship service, you may well hear on both days the famous William Williams hymn written in 1745 ‘Guide me O Thou great Jehovah’ sung to the beautiful tune ‘Cwm Rhondda’  by John Hughes.

Once the sale of the premises has been completed, both sites and both organisations will be offering an amazing range of services to the people of Rhyl.
