YOUTH TEAM MATCH REPORT

Colwyn Bay RFC Youth 19 Rhyl and District RFC Youth 0

Rhyl went into the game hoping to improve on a narrow league defeat to the Bay before Christmas but were beaten in the first round of the North Wales cup by a Bay side who were much more aggressive in both attack and defence.
Playing against the wind in the first half Rhyl trailed 12 0 at half time and were still in the game. Despite a great deal of effort Rhyl could make little impression on the Bay defence and fell further behind to a well worked try scored by their left wing. They were further disrupted by a series of injuries and by the final whistle  hadn't really threatened the Colwyn Bay try line and for the second week ended scoreless. Rhyl Youth have a free weekend next week and will be working hard in training prior to the visit to Cobra the week after.

Meanwhile Rhyl and District RFC 1st XV had no game as they were let down for the third time by a team from the Anglesey area. This has left Rhyl having only played three home games this season. With the Six Nations coming up, it doesn't leave many dates for games to be full filled.
