Rhyl 45 Abergele 13

The Dragons completed the double this season over their closest rivals in a scrappy game that eventually turned into a comfortable victory.  On a heavy pitch and with the home side showing all the signs of a four week lay off and an excess of mince pies it was the visitors who started the brightest with some good early forward surges.  Rhyl eventually woke up and started to play the expansive rugby that has worked so well in recent games. It was out wide that the gaps came and once Rhyls pack had started to provide some clean possession it was the impressive Callum Morris ,one of the few stand out players who went over for the first of his brace.  Further try's came from Jack Hughes and Stuart Fell Crook with a pair each and one for  Tom Williams  rounded off the scoring.  Three conversions were added by Richie Williams and two  by Jason Blackmore. To their credit Gele never gave up on the game and went over for one forwards try and two penalty conversions of their own to round off a scrappy match.

Rhyl face league leaders Denbigh next week and despite this score line Rhyls players will have to improve dramatically beginning with training next week to ensure they produce a performance they are undoubtedly capable of.
